New to the series is Max's ability to go into Last Man Standing. The physics of shootdodging are improved with Payne reacting to the environment and falling on the ground more realistically. A simple strategy is to use your two-handed weapon primarily, and once it is empty, switch to dual-wielding. This makes dual-wielding a gambit at some points, as Max's two-handed weapon could prove more useful later on.
